     The Unwired Network

The Entertainment Industry Incubator, Inc. supports a monthly networking breakfast now in its eighth year.  The breakfast is often hosted by a local restaurant or hotel and offered to members of the local entertainment industry in an effort to create community.

The Incubator supports a weekly electronic newsletter that reaches several thousand people on a targeted industry list via the Internet.  This bulletin highlights announcements, events and job openings important to the local industry.

      Collaboration…A Short Film Contest

The award winning, Collaboration…A Short Film Contest groups together teams of six and provides an opportunity for them to compete for recognition, prizes and a chance at distribution of a feature length film based on an associated script competition.  The top fifteen jury-selected short films are showcased on an evening in January before the local community and senior level film industry executives who are brought here from New York and Los Angeles to judge the competition.

       The Finances of “the Business”

This workshop series supports the local entertainment industry by offering technical assistance and information about the business side of our industry.   This year’s program focuses on the importance of financing individual projects in building the framework for a successful industry.

        Community Based Web Site

www.eincubator.org has become another avenue to resource information both from and for our local entertainment community.

        Acorn Project

The Acorn Project is a three part program for high school students, some of whom are at-risk, which begins with entry into the short film contest and continues through a mentoring program followed by an internship opportunity.  The Project allows students to benefit from the skill and expertise of the many professionals in our community who wish to help insure that the future of our local workforce remains strong and solid.

        Music Video Challenge

The Music Video Challenge was designed to uncover and showcase local music talent to industry executives who might help further their careers much in the same way that the short film contest has spawned several careers.  Profession-boosting prizes encourage emerging talent to compete at the highest level.  The MVC offers an unusual opportunity for musical artists to team with videographers in order to highlight the talents of each.
